Remote and telephone appointments
Not every conversation needs a journey. Once you have been seen in person, many follow-up consultations, such as going through test results or checking how you are getting on after treatment, can take place by telephone.
Remote appointments, and home visits where appropriate, are arranged as agreed with your consultant. If you would prefer a telephone follow-up, just mention it when you book.

Before you travel
A little preparation helps your consultant understand your situation quickly, so more of your appointment is spent on what matters to you.

Your referral letter
If your GP or another doctor has referred you, please bring the letter with you or have it to hand for a telephone appointment.

A list of your medication
Include the names and doses of everything you take, including anything bought over the counter and any supplements.

Previous results
Copies of earlier blood tests, scans or reports, such as PSA results or imaging, help us avoid repeating tests you have already had.
